 SOUTHERN NEGROS

If you want to sample several world-class beaches in one short trip, look no further than southern Negros. Fly into Dumaguete, the regional capital of Negros Oriental, and you are within an hour of Apo Island, a top dive site with backpacker-friendly accommodation on an utterly isolated stretch of sand; escapist paradise Tambobo Bay; and Siquijor Island. rung with bone-white beaches and exceptional value accommodation. Further afield (four hours away by bus), you’ll feel like you’ve reached the end of the Earth at Sipalay’s Sugar Beach.

BUCAS GRANDE ISLANDS, SURIGAO DEL NORTE

BUCAS GRANDE ISLAND HOPPING AND SOHOTON COVE TOUR. With its lushly vegetated tropical rock islands, crystal clear waters, caves, lakes and school of non-stinging jellyfishes, I certainly agree to those who say that this destination is a must-see in Surigao Del Norte. One can expect to be surrounded with sublime scenery during island hopping. I would, however, like to set proper expectations by saying that while there are a few beaches in Bucas Grande, they’re small and not as stunning as those beaches found in Palawan, Caramoan, Boracay and Siargao. This shouldn’t stop you from visiting Bucas Grande islands and Sohoton Cove though, because this destination certainly has its unique charm and the scenery is really spectacular.

BORACAY

The queen of all the beaches is probably White Beach in Boracay, constantly rated as one of the Top 10 beaches of the Philippines. 🙂

Boracay is a small island in the Philippines located approximately 315 km (196 mi) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Boracay Island and its beaches have received awards from numerous travel publications and agencies. The island comprises the barangays of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak in the municipality of Malay, in Aklan Province. The island is administered by thePhilippine Tourism Authority and the provincial government of Aklan. Apart from its white sand beaches, Boracay is also famous for being one of the world’s top destinations for relaxation. It is also emerging among the top destinations for tranquility and nightlife.

Boracay was named ‘Best Beach island’ in 2012 by Travel + Leisure magazine. Work on your tan on the island’s seven-kilometer powdery white sand. Or go kiteboarding or windsurfing on Bulabog Beach-listed as a top destination in the international circuit.

CORON PALAWAN

Coron is a first-class municipality in the province of Palawan. It is located in the northern side of Palawan. It is quite an undeveloped town on the island of Busuanga where most lodges and inns are situated. There’s not much to do in town itself (expect climbing Mt. Tapyas) so it’s basically considered as a jumping point for all water activities. Coron is one of the few towns of Palawan where tourists flock because of its majestic bodies of water. The crystal-clear water of Coron Palawan is incomparable as it is a mixture of saltwater and freshwater.

Coron Palawan is considered as Shipwreck Diving Capital of the Philippines. The main industries in the small town of Coron are fishing and tourism. A lot of people go bananas with the town’s beaches, dive sites and other natural tourists spots. Did you know: Coron Island was not inhabitable, so people living there transferred to Busuanga and later on, that place were they transferred to was also referred to as Coron.

Panglao Island , Bohol

Alona Beach is considered heart of Panglao Island, many of the island’s restaurants, resorts and shops are located here since most of the activities are centered in this spot. It is situated on the southwest tip of Panglao Island fronting Bohol Sea and boasts of one and a half kilometer of fine white sand bordered by rocky cliffs on both end. Its rich water is ideal for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving with Balicasag and Pamilacan Island not far away. Balicasag and Pamilacan islands are both marine sanctuaries and undeniably two of the best dive sites in the Philippines.
